Character Profiles

I've noticed that over at the Character Profiles a lot have been having issues with the actors I came up with to play the characters in the movie. But like I mentioned before, it is simply for fun. Doesn't mean they will play them in the film.
So I came up with a better way to make you guys happy, fill out the form below and you'll be the ones voting and giving me ideas for Katniss, Peeta, Gale and Finnick.

This will only last until February 27th, 2011

I'll let you guys know when the changes have been made.
Happy Voting and Searching!

The Hob Needs Your Help

The Hob needs your help creating a Hunger Games Soundtrack!
And you might win a iTunes Giftcard!

DETAILS:

We're ringing in the new year by celebrating The Hunger Games through music! We all know that music can make a movie, and you've likely noticed songs that remind you of The Hunger Games. Well, we want to hear what they are!

Is there a song that puts you right in the middle of The Hunger Games? A song that you just must hear in the The Hunger Games film? We would love your input in putting together a Hunger Games Soundtrack for The Hob!

All you need you to do is e-mail us at thehoborg@yahoo.com with your song suggestions (please keep them focused on the first book in the trilogy). Include song title, artist, and a little something about why you chose that song for the Soundtrack. You have until January 17 to submit your entries.

All the submitted songs will be posted on our blog and you will then be able to vote for your favorite one! The songs with the most votes will become our Hunger Games Soundtrack!

And as a thank you for your help, everyone who submits a song for The Hob's Hunger Games Soundtrack will be entered to win an iTunes gift card, which means that one lucky fan will be able to buy all of the songs on the soundtrack! (The amount of the gift card will depend on the final songs selected for the Soundtrack.)

We can't wait to hear your song selections!

Happy Holidays

I want to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Come back soon for the exciting new year. Hopefully we get our Katniss and Peeta cast by next year! And many more movie news everyone is dying to know!

Suzanne Collins is '2010 Entertainers of the Year"

13. Suzanne Collins
Despite criticism of the kid-on-kid violence in her bestselling Hunger Games trilogy, Collins, 48, believes the books pack a powerful antiwar message. "My dad was career Air Force, a Vietnam vet, and a doctor of political science," she explains. "He felt very strongly about educating his children about war. And in turn, I feel drawn to creating stories for kids that might help them understand it."

Top Bar Discussion

As most active visitors the blog has a top bar that discussed Mockingjay.
I have decided to change it to the series overall.
Meaning, you can discuss all three books, The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay.

If you have any new segments you'll like to have featured here simply leave a comment.

Book Blog

I have actually always wanted to start a book blog, but never found the dignity or courage to start one since there's a lot of book blogs on the web, but I thought to myself, Why not take a chance? If it doesn't work I'll at least know I tried and move on.

Stop by and explore, there's some things I'm working on fixing and changing, so don't worry.

102 Voted!

WOW! 102 people voted!

But why is the commenting still down? That's what I want to know.

This is by far my most successful blog and NO ONE comments on the posts.

It takes a lot of your free time to run a blog/website for the fans to enjoy but to see no feed back is like a stab in the heart.

Loving something you like and not seeing someone at least appreciate your hard work is painful and just sad.

Thanks a lot to the people who have commented on some recent posts!
I really appreaciate it.

The book giveaway is still on if at least we get more followers.
You don't have to worry about the poll since you guys reached 100!

Banne Seeker

I know I've made an attempt in making a banner for this blog, I don't have the usage of Photoshop or other online skills to do it.

I'm searching for someone's kidness that has experience with Photoshop in designing a banner for my Shiver blog. I really would appreciate it.

New Background Color/Header

I changed the color of the background and header!

What do you guys think? Like it?

Should I change it back to the blue background/header.

Tell me in the comments!

Re Post: My Point of View on Comments.

Earlier in the week I posted a post about what I thought about the commenting in the blog and how I felt about that situation.
But why aren't you guys commenting, giving me feed back on the posts.
So far, NO ONE has at least e-mailed me for The Fan of the Week?
Aren't you guys a fan of the Hunger Games? Cause so far from what I've noticed is all the Hunger Games fans are really dedicated to the series and especially the characters.
I can't think of a reason for this action, but I have proof that I have at least 200 viewers maybe more per day.

I can't even believe what I saw when I was pulling these off a couple minutes ago.
I hope you guys can comment more frequently. Oh well.

Character Profiles

The original post that was posted on the sidebar (←) has been locked from further comments. There's a whole new set of characters added the the new character profiles which you can find here or the top of the bar!

You can discuss, argue (nicely) about the actors chosen for the role.

Just a reminder, the pictures used are my choice of actors for the film.

Go wild! :)

One Year Anniversary to 'Character Profiles'

Exactly one year from today, September 7, Character Profiles was created!

WOW! I can't even start to think about the first time I started this blog.

It's been so long!

I know at the end of post it says

"More coming soon. The character for Gale I got from Jabberjays.com. For Peeta I always imagine Max Theriot. As for Katniss."

But I never really updated it with more characters.

Now I decided to make it longer and move it with completely more characters from the series!
Once the post is ready I'll give you guys a heads up!

My Point of View on Comments

So I'm checking my STATS on the blog and the blog gets around 100 viewers per day, hey I don't ask a lot from fans cause I know this is just a fan blog but I do take time to update and give you guys the weekly segments: Music Monday, Fan Art Tuesday, Weekly Discussion, Fan Video Thursday, Weekly Dream Cast, etc. and I NEVER get at least one comment from a viewer.

It makes me feel bad that I do all this work to make this blog fun and enjoyable for the Hunger Games fans but to see that all those visitors never comment just look around and don't really give me any feedback at least to say "nice job" or "I like your blog"

Nothing.

Probably the only good and active thing on the blog is the Character Profiles which I know is good with the actors.

I really hope from now on I can see fans commenting and being interactive with the blog.

You can comment even if you don't have a blogger account just leave your name after your comment to at least let me know who you are.

If it continues I think the best thing I can do is move away from this blog and focus on something else. Even as much as I love blogging, I can't continue to blog if all my effort is not at least appreciated by the visitors/fans/bloggers.

If you're down here now and kept reading, thank you for taking your time to read my post and how I feel about the comment issue and my hardwork in putting and running this blog for you guys. I really like reading comments because it's a way for me to know that my blog is being viewed by the fans and liked, at least I hope.

I hope you get the sense I'm trying to accomplish with this post.

Craziest Thing Happened

I went to Target not so long ago. And went straight to the book section.

They had Mockingjay on the stand already.

But then when I was about to pay they didn't sell it to me because the system wouldn't allow it.

Oh, well.

The cover was really nice. Going tomorrow morning to get that copy!
