Rue's Lullaby

This is an amazing drawing and to go along with it a fan got inspired by the song. Listen below.

Artist: Marissa
Title: The Place Where I Love You

Here's the lyrics. I had to go find my book. Enjoy!

Deep in the meadow, under the willow
A bed of grass, a soft green pillow
Lay down your head, and close your sleepy eyes
And when again they open, the sun will rise

Here it's safe, here it's warm
Here the daisies guard you from every harm
Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you.

Deep in the meadow, hidden far away
A cloak of leaves, a moonbeam ray
Forget your woes and let your troubles lay
And when again it's morning, they'll wash away

Here it's safe, here it's warm
Here the daisies guard you from every harm
Here your dreams are sweet and tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you.

  25. I am a fourteen year old boy and this made me cry. It is very touching and very emotional. Oh, how I wish Rue didn't die. I wish her District was also allowed to live along with Katniss's District. I have a firm heart but I am very soft underneath. I cry at anything beautiful and true, anything that is sad. I love Rue and Katniss. May they live on in our hearts.

P.S: Something very sad happens at the end of Mockingjay. When it happened, it made me think about Rue all over again. Post if it makes you feel the same. Share your feelings.

  41. I cried throughout the entire Hunger Games trilogy, it was that good. Suzanne did the one thing thats impossible, the sequels were just as good (if not better) than the first. I cried for Rue. I cried for Prim. I choked up at the end of Mockingjay, not out of sadness, but a mix of hope and happiness. Peace in the world of Panem. Katniss being older with her kids made me think of this song. It made the hunger games feel real. I grew close to the characters. Why infact my eyes are getting watery right now! Good job Ms.Collins. Those books were better than Gregor the Overlander by far. And I do love that series as well. You are a brilliant author and I commend you for that.

  43. Everytime I listen to this song, I cry. I simply love it. I also am teaching myself how to play "Kiss the Rain" but its very difficult. But, it's worth a shot. Anything for Rue. Also, I have one more chapter then I am done with the triology but I don't want to finish it-I won't have anything left to read that is simply so amazing. ♥ (:

    ReplyDelete
  44. I love this song and I love the series. You sang it really good. But I am not trying to critisize, but I don't think that was how Suzanne Collins imagined it. I know you were just singing the song and I doubt you were trying to sing it like she wrote it because the wording is different a little bit and Katniss is supposed to sound as if she was crying. Also there is only supposed to be 4 verses total. If you were not trying to sing it like in the book, you did amazing and I cried when I listened to it. If you song that in The Hunger Games, all the Mockingjays would fall silent to listen to you sing. You should try singing the Hanging Tree. Sorry if you thought I was critising you because I wasn't. Thank You.

  51. I love the book and the song. Its amazing. However since we're all 'fans' here and I suppose I should use that term loosely; Did it not shock anybody else how Rue got this tribute song, yet when Primrose is murdered (and yes it was speculated that she was murdered) she got not a single melody? The only reason Katniss was so attached to Rue is because she was her only link to her gentle sister, someone she loved, while she was in the ring, and now when the Capital murders Prim, all that is gone? I don't know, something I would've thought about if I were Suzanne Collins. I love the Hunger Games and I can't wait till 3/2012

  67. The Hunger Games are the best books ever written. Rue was one of the most amazing characters in the book. I'm crying now. God, it's so sad. Colllins wrote so well in her book that I felt what Katniss felt when she lost someone. R.I.P to Rue, Finnick, Prim and anyone else who died in the book. I'm dying for the film. 71. The Hunger Games series is possibly the BEST series ever written. I cried a few times through-out the series, but when I was reading very last chapter of Mockingjay and the Epilogue I sobbed. You know you've read a great book when you have emotions for the characters (ex. crying when Rue died)

    ReplyDelete
  72. The Hungers games series had to be the best books i have eever read. I found myself in tears through-out the whole book. When Collins wrote these books she must of worked out how to get us to connect with the characters. I think the hardest i cried was when little prim died, but everytime a character died i found myself in tears. All together its an amazing book <3

  73. Collins created a MASTERPIECE, a WORK OF ART. This series made me cry, sent chills in my spine and made me dream of a life like Katniss and Peeta. This song is so WONDERFUL. I wish there was a next book, for I am a fan of the series.
